Obituary for Sharon Lorrelei Schmidt (Erickson)
Schmidt, Sharon L,. Age 79, of Dayton, MN peacefully went home to the Lord on Thursday, December 26, 2019. Born May 1, 1940 in Minneapolis, MN. Preceded in death by husband Robert W. Schmidt and parents Marvin (Dorothy) Erickson and Edythe Erickson. Survived by children Greg Petersen, Gary Petersen, Gwen Petersen -Segelstrom and Erika Schmidt -Bloedorn (Paul) seven grandchildren Gary, Jarrod, Breanna, Sydney, Lauren, Isaiah, Micah, and four great grandchildren. Sisters Yvonne Hudak (Ron) Beverly Petersen, Marlene Anderson, Kim Meyer and many beloved nieces, nephews and friends.
Sharon loved the Lord and treasured her family. A beloved wife, mother and grandmother her passions included traveling with her beloved husband, singing and playing piano, spending time with and entertaining family and friends at their home in Dayton and lake home in Annandale. Causes close to her heart were underprivileged youth, the Church and the Native American Nation where early in life she served as a social worker at Indian Upward Bound. In 1968 Sharon acquired her real estate license and began her career with Adams R.E. then Brook Park Realty, Inc. where she met her soulmate Bob, marrying in 1974. Later in life she worked diligently to establish youth centers and church sites with the Salvation Army and numerous other local churches in the NW suburbs. Sharon went on to a highly successful career as a commercial and residential real estate broker and developer was founder, President and CEO of High View Investments, Inc., also holding interests in Brook Park Realty, Inc. and Mattson’s Landing, LP.
Memorial service 11 AM Friday – January 17th, 2020 at CHURCH OF THE OPEN DOOR 9060 Zanzibar Lane N., Maple Grove with visitation one hour prior. Reception to follow.
